A high altitude walk with amazing views on the Swiss border
Using the cable car for easier access, this walk takes in Lac Vert, located just over the Swiss border. Walking above 2,000m, you enjoy the fresh mountain air and soak in the amazing views for miles around.

Avoriaz is a completely pedestrianised resort, no cars, vans or lorries. The best way to travel around, especially if you have little ones or lots of luggage is by horse drawn sleigh.
This family run farm is open for visits in summer and winter where you can take a tour or simply buy some of their delicious cheeses.

Le Strike Roc Bowling Bar in Avoriaz is a year-round destination for fun, food, and friendly competition. During the off-season, the venue welcomes guests from Monday to Friday, 12pm to 2pm and 6pm to 10pm, and on Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm, including public holidays and May bank holidays.
Aquariaz is an aquatic paradise set in the heart of Avoriaz offering a huge water park made up of a gentle flowing indoor river, a slidewinder (an aquatic halfpipe), a toddlers paddling pool and water playhouse, a large pool with natural climbing walls.

When the pistes and lifts are closed in Avoriaz, you can still hit the slopes after dark on a snowmobile.
The footpath sets off from the plateau in Avoriaz with quite a steep climb (70m vertical climb) up onto the Avoriaz ridge.
This itinerary then continues downhill, with wooden signposts for Cascade des Brochaux. You'll reach this waterfall in about an hour. After stopping at the waterfall, catch the Mossettes chairlift.
At the top of the chairlift (2,277m) you'll be in Switzerland (yellow footpath signs). Walk down towards the Lac Vert (1,972m) and the refuge (40 minutes). You might bump into the local shepherd with his flock of sheep. From the lake, walk up to the Col des Chesery (1,992m), which marks the French-Swiss border.
From the pass follow signs to the Col de Rochasson (watch out for the mountain bikers).
At the 1,805m altitude marker, fork left towards Lecherette and Lindarets. The footpath crosses a small stream then continues in wide loops down to Lecherette (40 minutes). Return to Avoriaz by the Lindarets Express chairlift.
If coming by car from Morzine or Montriond, start the circuit by leaving your car at Lecherette. From here follow signs for Brochaux and catch the Mossettes chairlift.

The resort plays host to a number of winter music festivals which take place across the resort and pistes, namely Rock the Pistes and Snowboxx in March. In summer, the Pass'portes du Soleil mountain bike festival is the biggest event for bikers, with the occasional Tour de France stage passing nearby.
