1. Horse drawn sleigh taxis

Location: Avoriaz

Avoriaz is a completely pedestrianised resort, no cars, vans or lorries. The best way to travel around, especially if you have little ones or lots of luggage is by horse drawn sleigh.

You can either use them as a way of getting around the resort, where journey prices range from €7 to €13 depending on how far you want to go (luggage €4) or you can hire one for a scenic trips around the resort for €15 to €35.

Sleighs can be picked up at the entrance of the resort (“Accueil”), the outdoor parking P2, the top station of the Prodains cable car and in the centre of town.

This service operates from 08:00 to 20:00. A night service is also available which operates on a cat-tracked vehicle, 7 days per week from 20:00 - 08:00. Call to reserve and verify prices once you arrive in the resort, you cannot book in advance. All info is on the website link above.

2. Getaway Vans In-Resort Cab

Operating from Sunday until Friday, from 18:00 until 02:00 on a pre – booked basis.

As well as an airport transfer service this company offers an evening shuttle service in and around Morzine, Les Gets and the surrounding villages. If you would like to enjoy the bars and restaurants of the town without having to walk then their evening shuttle service is for you.

If you’re getting married or having a party in a far-off location, drop them an email or call the office. They can arrange a specialised service to suit your needs.

Prices start from as little as £15, but please note there is a flat surcharge of 5€ after midnight. The company can be flexible about the journeys they can offer, depending on your requests.

All bookings should be made in advance and outside of the winter season they will require at least 24hrs notice.

3. Activ' Taxi

Private transfers in and around the Portes du Soleil area, including nearby airports, train stations and ski resorts.

This taxi service covers all the Portes du Soleil areas and neighbouring towns: Morzine, Avoriaz, Saint Jean d'Aulps, Les Gets, Montriond, Abondance, Chatel, Champéry, Mougins and les Crosets. They also offer services to the airport and train station at Geneva, Thonon-les-Bains, Cluses, Annecy, Bellegarde, Lyon and Grenoble.

Other services include medical transport. All of their taxis are well-prepared to drive on the snow, can accommodate up to 8 people and have space for luggage.

4. Taxi Morzine

Private in-resort taxi service as well as airport and train station transfers around the Portes du Soleil area.

This family-run taxi company was founded in 1992 by Morzinois Yannick and English Jo, a couple who still run the business after 35 years. Apart from booking your taxi, you can usually find them at the Morzine taxi rank until 02:00 in the winter.

They have mini buses that can accommodate up to 8 passengers and larger vehicles for up to 15 people. They offer child seats for no extra charge and all their vehicles are properly adjusted to winter conditions.

5. No9 Taxi Arnaud Landais

Covering the Portes du Soleil area, as well as nearby airports and trains stations, this taxi service can transport from 1 to 8 people.

With more than 10 years of experience, Arnaud Landais can take you around the Portes du Soleil resort, as well as to and from the airports of Geneva, Lyon and Annecy. He also offers transfers to trains stations (Cluses, Thonon-les-Bains, Bellegarde) and hospitals (Evian, Cluses, Geneve, Thonon-les-Bains and Annemasse).
