Avoriaz Apres Ski Report: 10th April 2013
More end of season parties
It might have dumped over a foot of new snow overnight and we might be enjoying freshies as if it were January, but I have some harsh news for you. There’s just over a week of the ski season left in Morzine & Les Gets.
A few weeks back I previewed a few of the closing parties in my blog and since then many new ones have been announced. So here’s your guide to the next seven days in Morzine & Les Gets. It’s been such an awesome season, I’m personally recommending that you head out to each and every party in celebration of Winter 2013. I’ll see you there!
Wednesday 10th – The last Basscamp après party of the winter at Le Tremplin, from 4pm
Basscamp has not failed to impress all winter long, with banging après parties on the huge heated terrace of Le Tremplin each and every Wednesday afternoon from 4pm, in addition to four full on club nights at L’Opera nightclub. If Basscamp has been your big après night this season, don’t miss the end of season party which has a fancy dress theme, seasonaire beers at €2.50 for a demi and €5 for a pint, and a load of messy après goodness.
Friday 12th – Resort workers party at Le Tibetan Café, Morzine, from 6.30pm
Tony’s end of season parties are famous for being free and fun. The Pistie Boys are one of the best bands in Morzine this winter and they’ll be making their final appearance of the season while Tony feeds the masses with his free BBQ and everyone gets drunk on free punch. The whole resort is invited to celebrate the end of the season at Le Tibetan so you’d better join in!
Saturday 13th – L’Apres Ski Bar closing party in Les Gets, from 11am (you read that correctly, 11am…)
New to the Les Gets après scene this winter, L’Apres Ski Bar went big and bold, bringing in the Basscamp DJs as well as loads of other talented musical folk for their twice weekly party on the piste. Their closing party promises to be just as epic, with ski tests, a BBQ, gogo dancers, face painting and retro fancy dress. There’ll be loads of giveaways too, including a pair of skis and a snowboard.
Saturday 13th April – Party like a pirate at Chalet Le Boomerang in Les Gets from 7pm
Join JM and his team, along with the most amazing (and hardest working) band in resort, Cab Collective for some fancy dress craziness. And the best fancy dress wins a prize! The adjoining Mammas takeaway and restaurant and Que-Tal wine and tapas bar will also be open so you can line your stomach.
Friday 19th April – Au Revoir Happy Hours Bar! Ardent from 1pm
The guys from the Happy Hours Bar in Ardent have made a massive après effort this winter, with seasonaire drinks prices, live music and loads of fun games. Their closing party will go on until late and there’ll be free shuttle buses running back to Morzine. They’ve also promised hot tubs, a live band and live DJs, cocktails and a load of cheap drinks.
Friday 19th April – Drink the bar dry at Le Crepu, Morzine from 7pm
Perfect for when you stumble back from the Happy Hours closing party. The team at Le Crepu are inviting everyone to drink the bar dry in celebration of the end of the season. Pints and Jagerbombs from €5, €20 for 10 shooters and €40 for a bottle of champagne. Sounds alright to me!
The amazing, Morzine based Stardust Factory beanies are also offering a 10% end of season discount on all their headwear for Morzine lovers.
I’ll be back next week to round up the season from Morzine. Liver permitting that is…
