Lift Access & Restrictions
There are only a few lift restrictions to the Avoriaz lift system. It is always worth checking these restrictions before you set off up the mountain and follow them where they apply.
The main access lifts; Pleney, Ardent, Super Morzine and Prodains can be ridden by pedestrians and can be used by skiers and snowboarder to go up and down. The remainder of the lifts are not available to pedestrians and none of the other lifts can be ridden down the hill, only up. In the summer all the open lifts can be used by pedestrians for travel both up and down.
There are not many restrictions to the lift system in Avoriaz in the winter - Wheelchair acces is restricted to cable cars only with no access on gondolas or chairlifts. Pedestrians, Paragliders/parapentes and dogs are allowed on all cable cars, gondolas and chairlifts. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Babies are allowed on all cable cars and gondolas (Pleney & Super Morzine in summer) but not on the chair lifts. It is not recommended to expose babies to sudden changes in altitude or temperature - if lift staff consider your child too young to travel on certain lifts they reserve the right to refuse you entry.
Check the live status of the lifts before you set out as restrictions are more often imposed by the weather than the lift company.
