The Avoriaz ski season runs from 12 December 2025 to 19 April 2026.

Ski passes tend to be cheapest right at the beginning and end of the season, when snow cover is less guaranteed.

There are two ski pass areas in Avoriaz: Avoriaz and the whole of The Portes du Soleil. Both have terrain to suit all abilities. There's just a lot more of it in the Portes du Soleil.

The Portes du Soleil pass gives you unlimited access to a whopping 650km of pistes in 12 different ski resorts, from Les Gets, Morzine all the way across to the Swiss resorts of Champéry and Morgins.

Where can you ski with an Avoriaz lift pass?

The Avoriaz lift pass gives you access to the Avoriaz 1800 ski area, a wonderful mountain playground with over 75km of runs and the most famous snowparks in the French Alps, attracting freestyle skiers and snowboarders from all around the world.

How long can you ski for with an Avoriaz ski pass?

Only five hour, one day and two day passes exist for the Avoriaz ski area. For longer durations, either buy multiples of one day and two day passes in Avoriaz, or purchase Portes du Soleil passes which are available for up to 14 days

Don't forget to bring proof of age when buying your ski pass.

The Portes du Soleil offer discounts for groups of four people or more called Pass Tribu. Group discounted rates are only available online, for passes of six days and more, for the same dates and duration, bought in a single purchase. You can buy these passes all season, with the occasional exceptional week, e.g. if there's a major resort event/week.

There are also 10% discounts on Portes du Soleil passes for groups of four people and more. Passes must be for the same dates and same duration, minimum four days, and must be bought in a single transaction. Further discounts may be available to large groups. Enquire at one of the ski pass offices for a quote.

Beginner passes in Avoriaz

Beginner ski passes in Avoriaz give you access to the following lifts: Prodains Express cable car; Plateau, Tour, Zore, Seraussaix, Proclou, Léchère and Dromonts 1 and 2 chairlifts; Thrashers, Ecole 1 and 2, Baron, Barmettes and Chapelle drag lifts; Super Morzine and Ardent gondolas. These passes are available online and at the ski pass offices in resort.

Children aged under five years old ski for free. Proof of age required at the moment of purchase. A 3€ fee will be charged for the hands-free card.

Free childs pass in April

From start of April, one under 12 year old du Soleil pass is offered free with every purchase of one adult Portes du Soleil pass of a minimum of five days (must be direct family members). A 3€ fee will be charged for the hands free card.

It's a good idea to take ID when you buy a hands-free card. You may be asked to prove your age, or your kids' ages.

You'll be glad to hear that pedestrians and cross-country skiers can also enjoy the Avoriaz ski area in the winter. The same pass gives access to winter walking routes and cross-country skiing pistes by using the following lifts: Ardent gondola (uplift only), Léchère chairlift (uplift only), Super Morzine gondola, Zore chairlift, Plateau chairlift (uplift only), Prodains Express and Lindarets chairlift (uphill only).

• Super Morzine and Ardent gondolas and Prodains 3S
• Zore and plateau chairlifts

How much are season passes in Avoriaz?

Avoriaz season pass prices depend on your age, type of ski pass and when you purchase your lift pass, as there are deals and discounts to be enjoyed when buying it in advance.

Portes du Soleil season passes

For every Portes du Soleil season pass purchased, you get 15 ski days - five days in Les 4 Vallées Verbier, five days in Aletsch Arena and five days at Espace Bernado (La Rosière-La Thuile). Plus you'll get one voucher to access Verbier and the Aletsch Arena mountain bike area in the summer. Also two passages on the four seasons luge in Les Gets and three "discovery ski" days in one of the partner resorts.

Are there any other passes available in Avoriaz?

Yes, Avoriaz offers special passes to access their world famous snowparks.

Park and Stash snowpark pass in Avoriaz

The Park and Stash pass at €32 available for one day offers access to the Prodains Express gondola; Stade, Tour and Prolays chairlifts; Surf, Arare 1 and 2, Chapelle, Ecoles 1 and 2 and Thrashers drag lifts and the Ardent gondola.

Disabled ski passes

Disabled skiers benefit from reduced pass prices (50% off the public price) in Avoriaz. Adults, children and accompanying skiers all pay the same price. A valid ID card or proof of disability is required at the point of purchase. These passes can only be bought in resort.

The prices on this page do not include insurance.

You’ll be given the option to add ski insurance when you buy your ski pass online or at the ticket office. This is provided by SnowRisk and normally costs a few euros a day.

You don’t have to buy insurance from the lift company, but we can’t stress how important it is to have a snow sports policy in place before you come skiing or snowboarding in Avoriaz.

Hopefully you’ll never have an accident. But if you have to be helicoptered off the mountain, or spend any time in hospital in France, you could end up with a huge bill.
