Winter 24/25 ski season build up

The ski season is upon us, and the excitement is building! Snow is falling across the Alps, and early winter forecasts are looking promising. We can’t wait to keep you updated with the latest snow reports from Avoriaz throughout the season.

Here we are back for another season and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the winter ski season. It's getting colder in the resort with hard frosts now and we’re seeing good snowfall this week all across the Alps down to around 1000 metres. 

The high peaks are taking on that majestic freshly snow clad look once again and the pisteurs are out there preparing the slopes. Check back here weekly for the latest snow and weather report.

PRE-OPENING NEWS

Due to the great early snowfall, Avoriaz will partially open the weekend of 30 November/1 December - check social media for full details and below for live lift staus info.

First snow

The first snow has arrived in Avoriaz with more forecast this week. It's going to be really cold this week with temperatures down to -11°C at 1000m and around 50 - 70cm of snow is expected down to about 1000m, over the next few days.

While you are waiting to get out here, we’ve had our ear to the ground to bring you What’s New in Avoriaz this winter and have been updating our site to bring you the news from Avoriaz this winter.

Avoriaz is well known for great events and music festivals and this year is no exception. The season kicks off with Rock on Snow for the opening weekend. During the season you’ll find a Freeride World Cup qualifier event. As Well as the legendary Rock The Pistes and Snowboxx events. Avoriaz opens on 13 December 2024 with Rock on Snow and goes right through to the 21 April 2025. Plenty of time to come and enjoy the white stuff!

Upcoming Events

There is plenty going on in Avoriaz throughout the year. The resort plays host to a number of winter music festivals which take place across the resort and pistes, namely Rock the Pistes and Snowboxx in March. In summer, the Pass'portes du Soleil mountain bike festival is the biggest event for bikers, with the occasional Tour de France stage passing nearby.
