Ski and snowboard rental store and sports shop is situated in the heart of resort in the Place Centrale next to the Cinema.
Avoriaz continues to feel properly wintry this week, with the high plateau holding its snow well and the surrounding slopes looking smooth and well covered. The resort has a settled mid winter atmosphere now, with fewer weather swings and a sense that the season has found its balance. Conditions on the mountain feel dependable and comfortable, with good visibility on most days and a steady rhythm to skiing across the area.
Current snow depths are sitting at around 200 to 220cm on the upper slopes, with approximately 130 to 150cm in resort. There has been no significant snowfall since last week, although light snow showers at altitude have helped maintain surface quality. Temperatures have remained seasonable, with daytime highs on the mountain ranging between -6 and -3 degrees Celsius and the freezing level hovering close to 1400m. Snow conditions are skiing well across most of the area, with soft, groomed pistes and pockets of packed powder higher up. Lower and more exposed runs can feel firmer first thing, but generally soften slightly by early afternoon. Winds have been light to moderate, with no major disruption to lift operations.
The outlook for the coming days is largely dry with a mix of cloud and brighter spells. Temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady, which should help preserve the current snowpack rather than dramatically change conditions. Any new snowfall looks light and mainly focused on higher elevations later in the week. In resort, Avoriaz continues its winter programme with family activities on the plateau, evening entertainment and regular outdoor events.
Avoriaz is offering reliable mid winter skiing, with the best snow holding on higher and more sheltered terrain where coverage and snow quality are most consistent. Early starts suit the more exposed runs, while spending time on the upper slopes will give the best conditions over the next few days.
