What's new in the Stash Winter 2016-17

Work continues in Lindarets to get The Stash ready for winter

It might still be summer but work has been continuing to get The Stash ready for winter.

The Stash is a 100% natural park sponsored by Burton. It features a number of different lines of varying difficulty for riders of all levels. The wooden features do get subjected to the ravages of nature, however, and maintenance has been ongoing this summer to keep things in shape and also to add a few more features.

One of the bridges leading up to the hut had rotten through and had to be replaced. Three of the posts holding the hut up had also rotted through and had to be completely replaced, which was quite a substantial undertaking, replacing the bridge and the posts and decking it all out. Although it involved a lot of work it should last for a few years now at least. The picnic table to the right of the hut has now also gone. It will either be replaced with a wall ride up to the hut or a snow quarter pipe.

Some of the wall rides had also fallen into disrepair and work has begun on repairing them so that they will be ready for winter. The next big job will be replacing the double wall ride at the start of the right hand line as it has become quite rotten.

One of the totem poles is also having it’s stand replaced as that has become rotten.

Work will continue throughout autumn, including mountain bike track maintenance, including development on the new track leading to the Serrausaix lift.
