Avoriaz has just been voted Europe's Best Ski Resort for Families and Best Snowboarding Resort by the European Destinations of Excellence Network (EDEN).

Created by the European Commission, the EDEN aims to promote sustainable tourism across the EU by supporting the best destinations in the continent, comprising over 350 destinations from 27 European countries. A record 120,000 people from 100 different countries took part in the vote which saw Avoriaz pick up the best for families award for the second time.

The resort has long been a favourite with families with it's 'Children's Village' teaching kids to ski since 1975. The resort also offers free ski passes for under fives, and the dedicated 'Kids Parkway,' a mini snowpark for younger riders. Avoriaz is also completely pedestrianised, making it extremely child friendly.

It is also the destination for snowboarders in Europe due to its high quality freestyle infrastructure. With five dedicated snowparks and a superpipe, it's no wonder French snowboard legend Johann Baisamy decided to set up his snowboard school in Avoriaz.
