The atmosphere is vibrant, playful, and electric, making it impossible not to get caught up in the excitement.

The shows at La Folie Douce cater to all generations. Begin with a relaxed lunch accompanied by lounge-style or deep-house music, perfect for dining while soaking in the energy of the venue. As the afternoon progresses, the tempo rises with electro beats and dynamic performances by DJs, singers, and entertainers. Each act is designed to lift spirits and draw you towards the dancefloor, building up to the ultimate 128bpm climax. At that moment, everyone is swept up in the joyous celebration, letting the music and atmosphere take over.

A large restaurant and bar split over two floors and with a sunny terrace, serving Asiatic and French style food, with tapas too in a beautifully decorated interior.

From décor to dishes, everything is laid out to perfection, and the sheepskin rugs draped over chairs and floor give it the perfect modern alpine atmosphere. Before you hit the slopes, head here for one of their fantastic café au laits. As soon as you leave, you’re on the piste, caffeine fix consumed and ready for the day ahead. 

If you decide to visit for lunch or an evening meal, think cheese, slow cooked lamb, burgers, sushi, pasta, steaks, snails as well as home-made desserts, fresh coffees and cocktails. You must try an exceptionally French Café Gourmand, a dessert to beat any other. This pudding comprises a coffee with a selection of petit fours, in case you couldn’t decide on just one sweet treat.

Open in summer and winter from 12:00 to 15:00 and 19:00 to 22:30.

3. Chez Flo Restaurant

With inside and outside dining as well as a bar, this is a popular, large restaurant in Avoriaz. Dine on local Savoyard dishes, croque monsieur or frites, it all comes at a reasonable price. They offer traditional and varied cuisine, with seasonal flavours: discover their salads, specialties, pasta and omelettes, meat and fish, snacks and sandwiches, cheeses and desserts. The bar is a great place to have a drink while skiing or for apres-ski.

Located at the bottom of the half-pipe, it couldn't be a better place to soak up the sun.

4. Les Trappeurs Restaurant

Serving Savoyard dishes, as well as Italian specialities, omelettes, burgers and salads, this restaurant is located in one of the busiest piste-side spots in Avoriaz. It's a great place to top up your tan on the terrace and people watch.

Enjoy the express menu and plat du jour, and for kids order the menu ourson. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Their menu contains simpler dishes such as omelettes and burgers, which makes it a great option for families, and if you have some non-skiers in your group, the accessibility is easy. Due to the size of the seating area booking a table shouldn’t be necessary, unless you’re visiting in peak times such as kids’ school holidays, Christmas, New Year or end of season. 

If you happen to be staying in Avoriaz for closing weekend in April, this is the place to grab your fondue, as they throw a huge party often with dancers and live music. The restaurant is open every day and you can ski to the door or get to the restaurant on foot from Place du Téléphérique.

5. Les Fontaines Blanches Restaurant

Located in the centre of Avoriaz, the menu veers towards traditional French Alpine dishes including fondue, but they also have a wood fired pizza oven and host regular theme nights such as BBQ, mussels, buffet, etc. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable, with set menus and children's menus available. You're welcome to come just for a drink or two, either inside in the cosy bar or outside on the sunny terrace. A great après-ski vibe make this a popular restaurant with locals and tourists alike.

Open daily throughout winter from 08:00 to 01:00 for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.

Located in the Les Dromonts Hotel, this restaurant serves a wide range of traditional French cuisine, as well as lots of local specialities.

You can have lunch in their vaulted dining room or the sunny terrace with a snack menu and Savoyard specialities. Or head here for a casual dinner and try their burger, pasta with truffles or a delicious fondue selected by Frédéric Royer, their master cheesemonger of Boujon cheese.

Open for lunch from 12:00 to 14:00 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00 in winter only.

7. La Reserve Restaurant

Located in the heart of the resort, accessible on foot and by skis, enjoy the south facing terrace for a great lunch. 

La Reserve created in 1997, is open every day throughout the winter season from lunch to dinner and is recommended in the Michelin Guide. This restaurant serves a traditionally French Savoyard menu with meat and fish dishes too.

If you're here for a fondue we recommend a Mont d'Or fondue, a typically Swiss fondue or a gastronomic Swiss fondue with summer truffle at this fabulous Savoyard chalet with mountain inspired gourmet cuisine. 

They offer classic gourmet French dishes in their warm dining room or the large terrace. La Reserve is recommended in the Michelin Guide. There are frequent live music events too.

At lunchtime you’ll find most restaurants offering a well-priced plat du jour or dish of the day, usually with locally sourced meat, potatoes and a salad or seasonal vegetables. It’s just what you need after a hard morning on the slopes.
