Avoriaz Snow Report: 21st February 2014

Conditions are pretty good up in Morzine and Les Gets considering it is very busy. The half-term holiday week coincides with the first week of the French holidays this year and the slopes are about as busy as we've seen them this winter. Despite that the snow is holding up well thanks to the dump we had at the weekend. Monday was one of the best days of the season so far with deep, fresh powder and beautiful clear skies. Tuesday and Wednesday were a little patchy with some scattered clouds but Thursday was another blue bird.

There was a dusting of Sirocco sand that left the pistes covered in the red grit on Wednesday but there is fresh snow falling in Avoriaz this morning and we are hoping that the rain in Morzine will soon turn to snow too. The sun on Thursday did leave everyone worrying that spring might have arrived early but the forecast is for more snow before the weekend so we should see some whiter slopes again ready for next week.
