Lift access skiing in Avoriaz begins this weekend the 2nd-3rd of December with a partial opening of the resort.

After a fairly snowy, and definitely very cold November, Avoriaz is able to open part of its ski area for the 2017/2018 winter season. The resort will only be open on weekends for now, then on Friday the 15th of December the resort will be open full time for the season.

Four lifts will be open from 08:45 on Saturday morning. In the ‘Plateau’ sector, the Téléphérique Prodains-Express and the Télésiège du Tour. In the ‘D’Arare’ sector, the Télésiège de Lac-intrêts. Finally, in the ‘Lindarets’ sector, the Télésiège des Prolays

There will be a special lift pass price of €20.50 for the day or €39.00 for the weekend. The same discounted price will apply to all ages. The resort recommends access via the Prodain-Express lift where parking will be free.

Temperatures are forecasted to stay very low this week, down to staying below -10ºC during the day on Thursday and Friday. This cold front is also bringing some snow with it so Avoriaz could be off to an excellent start. The weather will start to clear on Saturday, and temperatures will get slightly milder but still be well below 0ºC, so wrap up warm!
