New 3S Prodains Gondola To Open This Summer

After this winters last minute opening of the new 3S Prodains Express on the 13th of April, Avoriaz have confirmed the new lift will be operational for the summer - opening on the 11th of July.

Opening slightly later than other lifts in the Portes du Soleil, the new lift is still undergoing a few optimisations, whilst lift personnel are being trained on the new system.
The new Prodains lift uses '3S technology' meaning it uses 2 carrying cables and 1 hauling cable. The lift can transport between 2,000 and 2,400 passengers per hour (current lift can only manage 450 people an hour) and takes less than 5 minutes to get to the top.

All this with a very low CO2 emission levels, this is possibly the fastest & greenest way up to Avoriaz.
One thing is for sure, it will be great for spectators of the Morzine Avoriaz Road Bike Climb in August.
