La Fruitière Restaurant, Avoriaz

La Fruitière at Folie Douce in Avoriaz serves gourmet regional dishes with a buzzing mountain atmosphere. Burgers include a pulled beef option and the plant-based Le Boyond, plus casual burgers at La Petite Cuisine. Open daily with après-ski entertainment, it’s a must-visit on the plateau.

Located at the top of Avoriaz and accessible by foot or skis, La Fruitière offers a warm and lively dining experience inspired by traditional mountain life. The restaurant’s name recalls the old dairy cooperatives famous for their cheese, and the menu reflects this heritage with dishes crafted from locally sourced Savoie and Swiss produce. Head chef Franck Mischler and his team create regional specialities with a modern twist.

For burger lovers, there’s a pulled beef burger and a plant-based option called Le Boyond. If you prefer something more casual, their cantine La Petite Cuisine also offers burgers. Open every day with two lunchtime sittings, La Fruitière is a great spot to enjoy a gourmet meal and stay on for the famous Folie Douce après-ski with live music on the terrace.

During the winter you can take your lunches in the heart of the fabulous skiing area Les Portes Du Soleil because Le Fangle is a mountain restaurant located on the slopes heading down from Avoriaz to Morzine. This charming restaurant has a spacious traditional alpine interior with a roaring log fire to keep you warm on chilly days.

150 places are reserved for the clientele of Le Petit Dru hotel so that they can take advantage of pleasures of the pistes without losing too much time. You can also take part in a torch lit descent back to Morzine from here, just don't be tempted by too much vin chaud!

3. Mamo's Café Lindarets

Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, this is a beautiful spot to grab some food during a long day in the mountains.

Serving a variety of food including brunch, local specialities, burgers, sandwiches, tapas and vegetarian dishes, as well as noodles and Asian inspired food.

Open every day throughout the summer months and also during the winter ski season. The venue is available for private hire and party evenings on request.

4. Les Ancelles Restaurant

Traditional bar and restaurant accessible on skis in winter or by foot in summer, within close reach of the Cascade des Brochaux.

Open winter and summer for lunch and daytime service, Les Ancelles offers a great stop-off during your day on the mountain. Located in the heart of the Avoriaz and Portes de Soleil ski area, they offer simple, good, home-made food to sustain you.

Try the hearty beef bourguignon or lamb casserole, the generous salads, the warming onion soup, or a simple comfort-food omelette. Finish it off with one of their excellent homemade tarts and deserts.

Enjoy your meal or drinks on the sunny terrace, or inside in the cosy traditional bar and restaurant.

5. Les Trappeurs Restaurant

Serving Savoyard dishes, as well as Italian specialities, omelettes, burgers and salads, this restaurant is located in one of the busiest piste-side spots in Avoriaz. It's a great place to top up your tan on the terrace and people watch.

Enjoy the express menu and plat du jour, and for kids order the menu ourson. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Their menu contains simpler dishes such as omelettes and burgers, which makes it a great option for families, and if you have some non-skiers in your group, the accessibility is easy. Due to the size of the seating area booking a table shouldn’t be necessary, unless you’re visiting in peak times such as kids’ school holidays, Christmas, New Year or end of season. 

If you happen to be staying in Avoriaz for closing weekend in April, this is the place to grab your fondue, as they throw a huge party often with dancers and live music. The restaurant is open every day and you can ski to the door or get to the restaurant on foot from Place du Téléphérique.

6. La Petite Cuisine Restaurant

Situated at the top of Avoriaz resort, enjoy a delicious meal after a morning on the slopes with family or friends.

A trendy, self-service restaurant with a great selection of high-quality dishes made using local produce.

The restaurant is open every day non-stop from 11:30 to 15:00, for lunch, sweet treats, savoury snacks and drinks.

Stay on after your meal to experience the unique Folie Douce Apres-Ski, with live music at the outside bar and terrace.

7. Le Refuge des Brochaux Restaurant

Accessible in summer and winter from the Lindarets plateau, on foot or on skis. This is a popular spot for a sunny lunch on the terrace or a cosy drink inside. 

This mountain restaurant is in the heart of nature and offers a unique dining experience in winter and summer. A great central stop-off point to re-fuel on your ski day around the Portes du Soleil, or an easy 15min hike up from Les Lindarets for a peaceful lunch in the summer months.

The spacious sunny terrace can accommodate 130 covers, and the cosy restaurant inside can welcome you in on those colder winter days.

The restaurant offers a menu of simple delicious mountain food, including traditional Savoyard dishes such as croute, diot sausages and tartiflette, as well as gallettes and crepes, salads, omelettes, sharing boards, and a much-talked-about blueberry tart! 

Open 09:00 - 17:00 and serving non-stop from July to September in summer and throughout the ski season opening.

8. Le Yeti Restaurant

This mountain restaurant is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, as well as being just a few minutes walk from Avoriaz centre.

Accessible on foot or on skis, this mountain restaurant is popular for its generous portions of typical Alpine food as well as a warm welcome from the staff.

With a choice of crepes, galettes, omelettes, salads, sandwiches and main courses you can opt for a quick snack or a full meal. You are also welcome just to have a drink.

Open all day throughout the winter season for lunch and apres-ski - often with live music.

9. La Pomme de Pin Restaurant

Serving an excellent variety of dishes, this is a popular restaurant with lots of return visitors. The owner and her team will give you a warm welcome and you can enjoy some magnificent views from the terrace.

Once upon a time a simple alpine chalet this restaurant has grown in popularity over the years, and as a result it's grown in size, too! Renovated to extend and modernise the dining space inside, and also to have a large terrace - one part covered and enclosed with heaters, and one part outside for good-weather days on the sun-trap terrace.

The restaurant serves delicious, hearty food to re-fuel you on your day on the pistes or hiking in this beautiful area on the Lindarets plateau. Settle in for a long, indulgent lunch, stop by for a hot chocolate and a crepe before setting off again, or swing by at the end of your ski day for a slow wind-down with some beers in the sun - this restaurant caters for all. 

On the menu is a selection of local dishes and other options, including healthy salads, soups, or burgers, and plenty of vegetarian options.

Open winter and summer from Monday to Sunday 09:00 - 17:00.

10. L'Alpage du Crot Restaurant

Famed for it's divine tartiflette, cooked on a woodfire poele in the main restaurant, this is a very popular spot for a lunch stop in Avoriaz, or for a drink on your ski back down to Les Prodains at the end of the day.

Located on the Crot piste which runs down from Avoriaz to Les Prodians, this restaurant is un-missable and incredibly inciting, especially when live bands are outside on the terrace. You can just ski up, unclip your skis and grab a table, inside or outside.

On the menu you'll find classic Alpine dishes, including the tartiflette which gets rave reviews! As well as savoury galettes, croutes, salads, burgers and warming soups. It's simple, good, mountain food, cooked with love.

Inside the small chalet it's very cosy and rustic, a real refuge from the outside elements. It can fill up quickly, so booking is recommended, and you can even pre-order your tartiflette so it's ready for your arrival!

On the warmer days later in the season there are often live DJs or bands on the terrace outside (or the roof!). Stop off for a drink and a dance on the side of the slope, and in a spectacular setting overlooking the cliffs in the valley below Avoriaz.

11. La Cremaillere Restaurant

Located in the small village of Les Lindarets, specialities at this restaurant include fondue, charcuterie, snails, trout and various snacks.

Three generations of the Braize family have run this restaurant at Les Lindarets which boasts a cosy dining room and a large terrace.

Open in summer and winter and is accessible by skiing or on foot and is an easy walk from Ardents tele-cabine.

12. Le Traino Restaurant

Serving traditional Savoyarde dishes this 'bar à fondue' is a popular choice and service is always with a smile from the friendly team.

As well as the traditional dishes of fondue, raclette and cheese hotpots, you'll also find pastas, steaks, burgers and salads on the menu, including a small selection of vegetarian dishes. The desert menu is hard to resist, with delicious patisseries, tarts and ice creams. Wash it all down with a genepy 'digestif' for good measure!

This is a lovely cosy restaurant, with a traditional feel, but modern, bright and smart. Conveniently located in the heart of Avoriaz on the Promenade du Festival, it's a great choice for lunch or dinner.

The large terrace is equally enticing for an afternoon beer or vin chaud. It's often buzzing with people and a fun social hub.
