Cooling down after The Tour

Imprint
Updated

It has been very hot in the Portes du Soleil since last week. The Tour de France rolled out of town under a scorching sun and since then it has not cooled down.

After the Tour left town things quietened down a lot but there is still a good buzz around town and the cafes, bars and mountains are still busy.

The downhill tracks over in Les Gets are running fast but the popular ones are getting a little rutted. If the rain forecast for Monday and Tuesday is heavy enough it might just sort them out.

There is plenty going on in Avoriaz throughout the year. The resort plays host to a number of winter music festivals which take place across the resort and pistes, namely Rock the Pistes and Snowboxx in March. In summer, the Pass'portes du Soleil mountain bike festival is the biggest event for bikers, with the occasional Tour de France stage passing nearby.
