First day back in Avoriaz. A much better day than I expected
The first of the ski areas in the Portes du Soleil opened up today!! Avoriaz had much better snow than I was expecting and features in both Baby and Arare park.
The snow is a little heavy but where it's been pisted it's great. Hopefully colder temperatures and more snow is on the way.

The resort plays host to a number of winter music festivals which take place across the resort and pistes, namely Rock the Pistes and Snowboxx in March. In summer, the Pass'portes du Soleil mountain bike festival is the biggest event for bikers, with the occasional Tour de France stage passing nearby.
