New Lifts Linking Morzine & Avoriaz to be Ready for this Winter

Work is progressing well on the new Proclou & Seraussaix lifts

You  may recall back in April we shared the video of the project to build better lifts between Morzine & Avoriaz.. well now it’s all go in Avoriaz, where the final push to get two new lifts ready before the snow arrives.

Both the Proclou and Seraussaix lifts are having a makeover that looks set to banish that long slog back to Super Morzine gondola from Avoriaz centre, and to open up the inevitable bottleneck created at the bottom of Proclou lift. This area of the resort is great learning terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers and riders, but in previous seasons the piste has become overcrowded, as this is one of the main routes back to Morzine.

The new Seraussaix high speed chairlift will sweep skiers up the hillside and over towards the descent back to Super Morzine, but it will now deposit skiers higher than before, meaning that you can enjoy a downhill run from the chairlift rather than a long, flat skate out…

Great news for snowboarders and tiny tots alike! Proclou’s upgrade will see a fast, modern chairlift replace the old one, which should keep the traffic moving and hopefully keep the pistes a little clearer. Additionally this new lift could be a good alternative to those lapping the Chapelle park and it’s traditionally busy drag lift.

A whopping 11.5 million euros is being spent on the upgrade.
